no turning back now........

Well I bought the plane tickets. I've ran and ran and ran. Last weekend we ran our 20 miles which is the highest we will go in our training before the actual event. It is downhill from now until the race which is great to think about, except now that I have ran 20 miles, my mind is telling me "no problem - I can totally do this" and I have lost my motivation to keep training. So I have to keep telling myself -- I will hate myself if I don't keep running between now and then. Don't worry -- I will keep going, whether I want to or not.
So I do have the confidence I can do this now -- however there are a couple things that make me nervous. First -- the HILLS!! It's San Francisco -- little scary. And Second -- the crazy amount of people that will all be squished together at the start line. I have a little panic attack inside whenever I even let myself think about being in the crowd. I am just hoping I can be at the very end of the crowd -- not in the middle.
Other than that -- I have trained for this and I feel good. So far my knee is holding on. I am excited for a fun weekend and to get this thing over with. :)

YOu can do it April! And what type of pendant/medal will Nike give/ I forget what they give at their marathons.

Krista -- instead of a medal -- we get a necklace made from Tiffany's. That is why I signed up for this one in the first place :) They are put on you by firefighters dressed in tuxedo's. Kinda funny huh?
We will also get a shirt, manicure, massage. But I am guessing the lines for these things will be ridiculously long..... so we will see. But it's fun to think about. :)

April I'm so excited for you! You kind of inspired me. I'd been looking (very casually) into training for a marathon since I read an article a few months ago. But after talking about running with you, I realized how much I actually do miss it. And since the most I ever did before was a 1/2, I figured I should go for the whole shebang. So, thanks! I'll let you know which one I decide to do. Can't wait to hear how it goes for you!

yes -- i've been training here with a good friend here -- who's name happens to be Lisa too. ( girls who are named Lisa are awesome ;) )
Anyways - I'll be going with her. And then 2 of her sisters are meeting her there and running with us too. Then my friend Carley from San Luis Obispo is meeting up there to hang out and cheer me on -- along with my parents. :)
It should be fun :)

You are awesome, but that is scary. My first triathlon was scary, until I though-why I am scared-it is not like I am racing-haha. I hope you have been training on hills. It is the best way to train is one similar to how the coarse is going to be. Anyhow-good luck, you are going to do awesome!! Cannot wait to see pics.

One more question. I heard about the necklaces, but I have also heard you have to have sponsors and raise at least $1000. Was I correct in hearing this?

jill -- yes you do get necklaces designed from Tiffany's -- I'll be posting pictures.
And no -- you don't have to have sponsors - it was $125. It was a lotto to get in though - so there is a chance of not getting in. We did it as a group hoping to raise our chances to get in - and we did.
