no turning back now........

Well I bought the plane tickets. I've ran and ran and ran. Last weekend we ran our 20 miles which is the highest we will go in our training before the actual event. It is downhill from now until the race which is great to think about, except now that I have ran 20 miles, my mind is telling me "no problem - I can totally do this" and I have lost my motivation to keep training. So I have to keep telling myself -- I will hate myself if I don't keep running between now and then. Don't worry -- I will keep going, whether I want to or not.
So I do have the confidence I can do this now -- however there are a couple things that make me nervous. First -- the HILLS!! It's San Francisco -- little scary. And Second -- the crazy amount of people that will all be squished together at the start line. I have a little panic attack inside whenever I even let myself think about being in the crowd. I am just hoping I can be at the very end of the crowd -- not in the middle.
Other than that -- I have trained for this and I feel good. So far my knee is holding on. I am excited for a fun weekend and to get this thing over with. :)

that's MY man!!!

Yesterday Sam ran his first 10k. It was called The Best Dam Run (because the course runs along a dam). I am so proud of him. He has been going out running 4 days a week for a month or two now, in preparation for this run. He did great!! Very proud of him.
If you are thinking " that CAN'T be what he wore in the race" -- you'd be wrong. The button-up, collar shirt is exactly what he wore for the race. I tried and tried to convince him to change but he was convinced it was the most logical choice since it was light weight and it had a pocket in the front for him to clip his ipod on. oooohhhh Sam -- always the unique one. :)
RUN Sam RUN!!!!!

Pickin' Apples

I took Gwen and Jackson (Addie was in school) -- out to the apple farm with Keith, Alicia, Maci and Victoria. While we were out in the field Maci and Gwen sat under a tree and had their own little "club" meeting which consisted of whispering things to each other. :) It was pretty cute.
Jackson had fun eating the apples and throwing the apples --- I'm sure the farmers would have LOVED to see that. But I made sure he only threw the ones that were already on the ground.
